Reliable sources of agricultural activity data:
- National surveys and statistics. Surveys provide agricultural statistics that can be used for greenhouse gas inventories. At the national level, these are often compiled by national statistical agencies or agricultural ministries (e.g., USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service).
- Producer organizations and industry associations (e.g., IFA)
- Project monitoring data (e.g., FAO World Programme on Agricultural Censuses; FAO-GRA Livestock Activity Data Guidance (L-ADG); Wilkes et al. 2020)
